A student-run, nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the professional growth and development of nursing students across the state of Florida. As the official state chapter of the National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA), FNSA represents and advocates for the more than 17,000 nursing students preparing to enter the profession.
Grounded in our bylaws, our purpose is to:
Promote the highest standards of professional nursing practice
Develop nursing students as future leaders and advocates within the healthcare system
Encourage participation in legislative and educational initiatives that shape nursing and public health
Foster collaboration, mentorship, and unity among nursing programs statewide
Support academic excellence, community service, and ethical nursing practice
FNSA empowers students through statewide leadership opportunities, annual conventions, scholarships, resolutions development, networking, and ongoing professional education. We provide a platform for student voices to be heard at the local, state, and national levels — preparing tomorrow’s nurses to make meaningful, lasting contributions to healthcare.

Resolutions
Resolutions are student-written proposals that address important issues in nursing, healthcare, and public policy. They are presented and voted on at the FNSA Annual Convention, and approved resolutions guide the organization’s advocacy priorities. Through resolutions, students develop leadership, research, and professional advocacy skills while making a meaningful impact on the future of nursing.

Advocacy & Legislation
FNSA empowers nursing students to be strong advocates for patients, communities, and the nursing profession. Through education on healthcare policy, legislative involvement, and participation in the House of Delegates, students gain the skills needed to influence meaningful change at the local, state, and national levels. By engaging in advocacy initiatives, monitoring legislative issues, and supporting evidence-based resolutions, FNSA helps shape the future of nursing and public health.
